Food Rescue and Recovery
Our Volunteers rescue food from our network of food donors, transport it to one of our Partner Agencies and return home in 90 minutes or less. Many of our food pickups and deliveries (what we call “routes”) occur in the early morning during the week. However, we are continually adding new routes, many of which occur on Saturdays and Sundays.
Volunteer Drivers typically pick up and deliver food once a month. After delivering the food, they report an estimate of the number of pounds of food delivered using an online Reporting Form.
Second Helpings Atlanta has other volunteer opportunities, too. Some examples are listed below. Please contact us and let us how you would like to get involved.
