Second Helpings Atlanta is pleased to welcome Monique Sorrell, its new Volunteer Coordinator. In this role, Monique will be responsible for expanding and developing Second Helpings Atlanta’s greatest asset, its growing community of dedicated volunteers. Through participation in outreach activities aimed at specific areas of town; presence at community events; direct appeals to civic organizations and faith-based communities; and by expanding Second Helpings Atlanta’s presence in social media, Monique will cast a wide net to broaden our reach. Her responsibilities also extend to activities that will foster a rich, rewarding experience for our volunteers.
During her career, Monique took on the management of a program that required recruiting and supervising 150 volunteers. Subsequently she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies and Business Administration from the University of Maryland University College and a Master’s degree in Administration from Central Michigan University. For a dozen years she provided highly skilled and effective administrative support to the management of a couple of Central Michigan University’s satellite campuses in Fort McPherson and Tucker, Georgia.
“Monique has always enjoyed working with people on projects that seek to achieve a grander vision and we are fortunate to have her on our team. Please join me in welcoming Monique to the SHA family,” says Joe Labriola, Executive Director.
